While writing and recording music for the Subsequent Ruins album, some of these shorter, less proggy songs were developing. As I finished up that recording, I turned my attention to these shorter, pop song structured tunes. The sessions for this music spawned a lot of additional material that eventually became two separate EPs.
“The album is a rich tapestry of sound, with the Warr taking both solo and centerstage, its distinct timbre resonating with warmth and precision.” - ReGen Magazine
“…an exercise in calm introspection that expands on gentle and candid lyricism.” - Autopoietican
“The first thing you notice is how full and rich each song sounds, perfectly capturing the versatility and depth that can be achieved with this one instrument. Its variety shines through on songs full of melody, adventure and straight-up bad-assery.” - Prog On
“…it’s something much more interesting.” - Grind on the Road

During the recording sessions for Radiant Dusk, began experimenting with the idea of adding drums to some of the songs. Once Amery recorded one track, I liked the outcome so much that we decided to do more and make a second disc that included these “new songs”. I wanted there to be something unique to the EP so I included an additional song which became the title track.
“With the presence of the drums, Slightly Different Paths gives a more robust muscularity, situated in a neat balance between Crimsonian-style prog and jazz-rock.” - Autopoietican
“I would say these add a lot of depth to already great tracks with the Warr guitar alone. Good discovery!” - Profil
“Anyone who likes instrumental music should definitely listen to Slightly Different Paths.” - PowerMetal.de
